Genevieve Vickery

We have many fond memories of Genevieve when she, Jim & Kenny lived in Georgetown. She was always concerned about others and stood by her beliefs. Genevieve was a very warm and caring person that always put others above herself. She cared so dearly for her family. We will miss her and pray God's peace be with Jim & Kenny.

We were so saddened to read of Genevieve's death. The wonderful picture truly captures her joyous spirit. We remember your time in the neighborhood with happy stories. How do you condense a friendship of thirty six years into a few lines? Genevieve is and always will be my closest Mills friend. We have gone through life together, sharing in all the joys and challenges. Genevieve and Jim have been there for me and my family offering inifinite love and boundless support of which we are eternally grateful. Genevieve and I could spend hours talking until our phones ran out of battery. I especially loved our spiritual discussions.

It gives me great comfort knowing that we ended each conversation with I love you.

Jim, you are the love of Genevieve's life. Kenny, your Mom loves you completely and she treasures you as her son.

Gen, I’m going to miss your smiling face at my front door (Diet Coke in hand) and our long talks about life, love and happiness. We didn’t always see eye-to-eye, but you always listened and provided thought provoking observations that usually ended in our agreeing to disagree. Whatever the outcome, you made me strive to be a better person and to reflect on our privileged lives as a blessing from above.

I’m going to miss riding in your Mini, on our late night Hey Cupcake runs and will always LOL (laugh out loud) when I reminisce your drive-by, Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie confrontation with Chris.

The overwhelming and unconditional love you have for Kenny & Jim continually shone through in our front porch/rocking chair conversations and will always remind me that "I" have room for improvement in the wife and mom category.

I know you are in Heaven, sweet sister, delighting in all the friendships and loving connections that are being made because of you.

I also know you’re purposely going out of your way to learn every one of the angel’s names and asking them if they have a Diet Coke or any Girl Scout Thin Mints in their possession.

I am deeply saddened to hear Genevieve's passing. She was one of the most caring chaplain resident I met at Seton Northwest. She is always ready to stop by and pray with patients who needed the support at that time. It was a joy to hear she loved Filipino foods- how I wish we have time to sit down and enjoy these dishes together.
I pray God keeps you in His loving arms as you go though this difficult time. You will be in my prayers.........

Jim and Kenny - please know that I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you're in shock. I'm sorry I never met Genevieve, but I'm sure she was and will always be a very special lady. Please let me know if there is anything an old friend can do from afar.
