Mr. George Gates Beckham 1-12-24 to 10-23-11, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Saraland, AL. Mr. Beckham was a World War II decorated Veteran, he was a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and was a 32degree mason at Loop Lodge. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 49 and the American Legion, and was a member of several Mardi Gras organizations. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Jake and Willie Beckham, four brothers Jake Herbert, Alfred, William, and Ernest Beckham, his first wife Joyce Tippins Beckham, and Maurice (Belinda) Beckham. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Elizabeth Moore Beckham, daughters Ginger Beckham (Tommy) Long, Georgiann Beckham (Melvin) Burdette, Kimberly Kay Beckham, Alisa Ellison Eagan, Betty Marlow (Johnny) Byrd, grandchildren Gabrielle Banks, Victoria Banks, Jennifer Long (Harold) Turner, Brandy Long (Shaun)McCarty, Karen Byrd, Jessica Marlow (Michael) McPherson, and Amber Marlow, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close and dear friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Banks, Johnny Byrd, Michael McPhearson, Harold (Bubba) Turner, Shaun McCarty, Pat Howell, Frank Sullivan, and Chris Banks. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Friday October 28, 2011 at 2PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12 until 2PM. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
