George Minter, 83, of Stuart, died August 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Stephenville, TX. He had been a resident of Stuart since 2004, having moved from Potomac, MD.
He had been a comptroller for the United States Navy before retirement. He was an accomplished musician having performed at many venues locally and an original member of the 1:00 Lab Band of University of North Texas in Denton, TX. , and the 4th Army Band.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marilyn Minter of Stuart; daughter, Cynthia Minter of California; son, David Minter of Manassas, VA. ; a step-daughter, Jennifer Clark of Hobe Sound, 8 grandchildren and a sister, Norma Banks of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his son, Nelson Minter.
No services are scheduled.
