George H. "Brownie" Browning, Jr.- Of Watertown died suddenly on February 15, 2009 at his home. He was the beloved son of the late George H. and Helena (Quigley) Browning.

Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on August 17, 1926, he was a retired employee for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Gaebler Center. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII, where he proudly served as a Glider and Paratrooper.

Brownie was the brother of Mary Nancy Shea of Watertown; Loving uncle of Carolyn A. Shea of Braintree and the late William J. Shea, III and Robert J. Shea. He was the devoted friend of Christina McAuliffe.

He was a member of the F.O.E. #1928 and the American Legion Post #156.

In Lieu of Flowers, contributions in Brownie's name made to the Harvard Band, 74 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 would be appreciated.
