GEORGE J. FOSTER, 69, passed away December 27, 2010 surrounded by his family at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland. Born July,9 1941 in Cleveland, he lived in Cleveland his entire life. Beloved husband of 15 ½ years to Carol R. Godnick-Foster (nee Verbic); loving father of Bridget (Wayne) Caldwell, Mary Kahl (Robert) Brandt and Alanna (Dean) Dessouky; step-father of Alecia Godnick and Jeffrey Godnick; grandfather of thirteen; great grandfather of one; son of Rose Marie Foster (nee Kahl) and the late Thomas J. Foster Sr.; brother of Rosemarie (Thomas) Burke, Eugene (Kim) Foster, Nancy (Mitchell) Cupach and the late Thomas J. Foster Jr., Robert J. Foster and Patrick Joseph Foster; brother in law of Antoinette Foster, Georgia Foster and the late Barbara Foster; former husband of Lisa Houk Wamsley; uncle and cousin of many. Mr. Foster retired in 1993 from the Cleveland Illuminating Company in Cleveland after 31 years of service. After his retirement, he went on to work for the city of Bedford Hts. Building Department as a chief electrical inspector for 14 ½ years. Funeral Mass 11 AM Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. Jerome’s Church, 15100 Lakeshore Blvd., Cleveland. VISITATION 2-4 AND 6-8 PM SUNDAY AT MONREAL FUNERAL HOME, 35400 CURTIS BLVD., EASTLAKE. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland 44119.
