Mr. George Jesus Cortez

Jesus George Cortez, 83, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, passed away on November 30, 2011 at his home. He was born in New York City, NY in 1928. Mr. Cortez had been a resident of Port Saint Lucie for the last seven years, coming from New York. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Cortez; son Roberto Cortez; daughter, Joanne Meneses; daughter Cecilia Cortez; and son Joseph Cortez, as well as 12 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at the Forest Hills Funeral Home Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
