George Milton Beaton, Sr., 87, was received in the arms of the Lord on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. Raised in Sedley, VA, he was a retired Aircraft Mechanic from Norfolk Naval Air Station after 32 years. He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church for 65 years and N.A.R.F.E. Chapter 66. He was a wonderful husband and father, and showed patience and love to everyone he met. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Stafford and Erma Beaton; and a brother, Willard Beaton. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances B. Beaton; daughter, Debbie Brown; son, George Milton Beaton, Jr. and wife Sheila, all of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Allison Goodwin, Melody and Emily Beaton; two great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Simms of Sedley, VA and brother, Marshall Beaton of Suffolk, VA. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel by Rev. John Williams. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
