George A. Radle, age 67, of Moosic, passed away Wednesday evening under the care of Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Edith Nenish Radle. Wed on June 22nd, 1968, the couple were married 41 years. Born in Moosic on April 21, 1942, he was the son of the late George and Mabel DePew Radle.He was educated in Moosic schools. George had worked for Topps Chewing Gum Company of Duryea and prior to retirement, for Contemporary Homes of Taylor. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. An outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed cooking and carving pumpkins. A loving husband, father, brother, relative and friend, he will be dearly missed. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Radle of Moosic, his three brothers; Willard Hughes and wife Joy of Moosic, and Jack and Jerry Radle, both of Niagra Falls, New York, and his granddaughter, Kayla Marie Connolly. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nursing staffs of Allied Skilled Nursing, University of Pennsylvania Hospital and the 4th floor of Moses Taylor Hospital for all of their care and compassion bestowed toward George. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Georgeanne Radle, a brother, Clarence Hughes and a sister, Sally Webb. As per the family's request, private funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, by Rev. Andrew Geissman, Pastor of the New Life Baptist Church in Scranton. Private interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Elmhurst. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 5-7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in George's name to the American Cancer Society (c/o 712 South Keyser Avenue, Taylor, 18517).
