Mr. George Edward Spence, Jr., age 86 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 1, 2012. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late George F. and Carrie Goode Spence. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and retired from General Motors. He was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Mimbs Spence; children, George Spence, Jr. of Atlanta, Linda (Michael) Robinson of McDonough, Jan Garner of Magnolia, TX, Robin Spence of Birmingham, AL, Cindy Spence of Birmingham, AL, Peggy (Art) Johnsa of Locust Grove, Cathy Youngblood of Forest Park, Eddie Rowland of Forest Park, David Rowland of McDonough; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister, VidaNelle Carney of Ashland, TN. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:30 PM from Glen Haven Baptist Church. Pastor Stan Berrong and Pastor Ralph Easterwood will officiate.
