Mrs. Georgia Ann Gasses Whittington, age 77, of McDonough, GA passed away October 2, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Joseph and Mary Flyhan Gasses. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Terrill Whittington and siblings, Shirley Horton, Rita Peoples, and Victor Gasses. Georgia was born and raised in Henry County and graduated from Henry County High School. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Georgia had an outgoing personality who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being outside at the swimming pool, gardening, and shopping. Survivors are her son, Christopher Anthony Whittington of McDonough; sibling, Sarah Hill of McDonough, Raymond Gasses Sr. of McDonough, Tommy Gasses Sr. of Barnesville, Vickie Farah of McDonough, Maxine Farah of Clarkston, NC and Jesse Gasses of McDonough; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Georgia will be Tuesday, October 4, 2011 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Father Chito Palang and Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the McDonough City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4 – 8:00 PM.
