Georgianne Helen AuBuchon died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, after a courageous 26-year battle against her brain tumor. Affectionately called "George," she was born in Chicago on March 21, 1952. Survivors include husband, Charlie of Vernon Hills, son Brad (Kim), daughter, Jenny and sweet grandson, Elliott, all of Chicago. George and Charlie were married for 39 years and organized the annual Vernon Hills Walk for Brain Tumor Research for 14 years. George had a master's degree in education and taught 8th grade math for 17 years, and volunteered in the classroom for many years after her diagnosis. Visitation and funeral services will be at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 U.S. Highway 45, Indian Creek, IL 847-362-1005. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 18. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19.
