Gerald was born on November 18, 1933
Gerald was a resident of Wellington, Florida. He and his sister Pearl were raised in Laurelton N.Y. by his parents Sam and Ada. Jerry was a medic in the army and graduated as an accountant from Adelphi University. As a child, Jerry especially loved to spend time with his mother and Aunt Esther
He married Gracine Camille Maccarrone in 1959. Jerry and Gracine moved to Queens and had their first child, Matthew in 1960. Their son Paul was born in 1961 and Daughter Cathy in 1963. They moved to Huntington, N.Y. in 1966 and had their fourth child David in 1967. He had very close and unique relationships with all of his children.
In the late 1960's, Jerry and two partners started a data processing company called LHJ Systems. LHJ was one of the original data processing companies and had offices in New York City at 130 East 59th street and Rockville Centre, NY.
In 1980. Jerry married Carol and had a son Andrew.
Jerry had six grand children. John, Robert, Alyssa, Jake, Sam and Michael.
Jerry loved his summers in East Hampton. He threw some amazing parties, big and small. From weddings to barbecues. He was an amazing host. He'd do the shopping and the cooking and made everyone feel right at home. But wherever he went, the good times followed.
Jerry had a special love for children but also for his many pets. He always wanted to help those who were the most vulnerable.
Jerry was multi-talented. His many professional skills included accounting and software design. He loved to cook, garden and most of all spend time with his family. He was extremely generous in every way imaginable. He helped many people in many ways. He worked very closely with all of his children and helped them establish their careers and independence. Jerry was always there to help with any of their needs especially with his grandchildren. He lived every day to its fullest and loved life passionately.
Jerry passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011. He leaves a strong legacy as a loving and generous husband and father.
