Gerald (Jerry) Cothran born on March 1, 1927 in Seminole County, Oklahoma and died on November 11, 2011 in Stockton, California. Jerry is survived by his wife June, daughter Deborah and son-in-law Lester Schoonover, four grand children Heather, Joshua, Matthew and Emma, step son Michael Freitas and his wife Mina, sister Alice Lohan, and brother Earl Cothran. Jerry served in the Army during the later stage of World War Two and the Air Force during the Korean War for a total of ten years and six months of military service. He is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He spent several years in the missile and space program and later worked with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army as a flight control and navigational aids engineer. Jerry says that his crowning achievement in life was that it only took him 10 years to qualify for the military good conduct medal
