Geraldine Geri Mae Hepler, 86, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away, Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 6:15 a.m., at her home, while her daughters were with her. Geri was born on May 10, 1925, in Walkerton, Indiana, to Ora and Celestia (Singleton) Arndt. She graduated from Grovertown High School, in Grovertown, Indiana, with the Class of 1943. Luther C. Hepler took Geraldine to be his bride on August 11, 1946. They were blessed with three wonderful and caring daughters, Lois Jean Jeannie, Marcia L. and Mary Kay. Her beloved Luther passed away on February 25, 1978. Geri retired from United Telephone. She then enjoyed working at Derf Jewelers, in downtown Plymouth and so enjoyed showing the customers the beautiful rings in the store. Geri was a kind and loving caregiver not only to her family, but to many people of this community, always sharing her smile and wonderful sense of humor. Her favorite hobby was cooking and during her time at the Catherine Kasper Life Center Rehab, her goal was to go back home and start cooking again. Geri was an active and devoted member of the Calvary Lutheran Church for many, many, years. She was a charter member of the Friendly 30 Home Economics Club. Geris family was a main importance of her life. She and her family were very close and loved spending time together. Almost any occasion turned into a fun family party! Geri is survived by her daughters, Lois Jean Jeannie (Wayne) Zehner of Plymouth and Marcia L. (Robert) South of Warsaw, Indiana; her son-in-law, Gene (Linda) Painton of Plymouth; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother, Ora Duane Arndt of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; their beloved daughter, Mary Kay Painton; her brothers, Leslie Arndt and Richard Dick Arndt. Geris family was so thankful for Hope Hospice, as this organization provided the assistance needed so Geri could be home, where she wanted to be, with her loving family and friends.
