Geronima "Emy" Lim Marcelino was born on September 30, 1946 in Barangay Ususan, Taguig, Rizal, Philippines. She was the third of 6 siblings born to Marciano and Miguela. She was the eldest daughter and so that was why everybody called her "Ate Emy." She attended high school at Jose Rizal College. She graduated from San Juan de Dios Nursing School on April 12, 1969. She married Maximino on October 19, 1969 and gave birth to Paul John on June 24, 1970, Anna Lea on August 27, 1972, and Myla on September 24, 1975. They moved to the U.S. in 1982. She first worked for Bank of America, then worked at KSI, then spent the rest of her over 20 years working for the City and County of San Francisco as a Claims Adjuster.
She spent her childhood helping in the family grocery business. She enjoyed singing and even as a young girl would join singing competitions, just like when she sang "A Tear Fell" at the Tita Betty Children's Show. She was such a friendly person that even when she was in high school, she would bring friends to the house every day to have merienda. She was a mom to everyone she met and her kindness will live through those she left behind.
She is survived by her husband, three loving children, eight grandchildren, father, four siblings, Smokey the loyal dog, and many extended family members. Though her untimely passing will leave a void in our lives, she will forever remain in our hearts.
