Gilmer H. "Buddy" Allen, 77, of the 4300 block of Fontana Ave., Chesapeake, VA, passed away December 26, 2011, in Chesapeake, VA. A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Raleigh and Mabel Allen. He was a retired Marine Electrician. He was predeceased by his wife, Wilma Elaine Allen. He is survived by his two sons, Jerry H. Allen and wife Brenda and Kenneth Lee Allen, both of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Alice Holloman and Betty Christenson, both of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Fred Allen of Virginia Beach, VA and Phil Allen of Chesapeake, VA; and a grandson, Jerry H. Allen, II of Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. with Bishop Kevin Walker officiating.
