Gladys L. Roseland, 76, of Grandy, NC, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. Born in Red Ash, VA to the late Lillie and Robert Hand, Gladys was retired from Stewart Sandwiches and a member of Broadmoor Church of Christ. She is survived by two sons, Michael Byrnes and wife Margaret and Thomas Byrnes and wife Julie, all of Decorah, IA; two sisters, Ethel (Jo) Kay and husband Arthur of Portsmouth, VA and JoAnn Smith and husband Ray of Grandy, NC; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Barthlein and Ruth Holloway; and four brothers, Frank, William, Larry and Edward Hand. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Gragg Harking. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Snelling Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel.
