GLADYS BENTON FRAZIER passed away at her home in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the age of 97 years young. She was a native of Jasper County Georgia.
Gladys is survived by two loving daughters, Anne Armstrong-Austin of Apopka and Lauri L. Benton of Phoenix, AZ, grandsons Kevin Armstrong, Deland, FL, Christopher Armstrong, Scott Austin of Orlando, and Jesse Huffman of Phoenix, AZ.; as well as many great grand children and great-great grandchildren.
She and husband Wilburn Benton moved from their native home in Monticello, GA to the Orlando area in 1960 to be near their daughter and grandson.
Gladys was preceded in death by her late husband Harold W. Frazier.
She loved people, had many friends and enjoyed attending church at Faith Baptist Church of Orlando while in good health. Gladys had a number of careers during her employment years. She worked at the Monticello Hardware Company in her home town of Monticello, Ga. for a long period of time before moving to Orlando; was bookkeeper at the family owned business of Armstrong Lock and Key Inc., worked as Manager of the Fabrics Department of JC Penney in Winter Park Mall; and retired from her job after many years of dedicated service while employed in Orange County's Tax Assessors Office.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home – 301 N.E. Ivanhoe BL., Orlando, FL. , with the funeral service starting at 11am; followed by graveside service and Woodlawn Cemetery.
