Glen A. Billings
Glen Alfred Billings of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010.
Glen was born June 2, 1933 in Vernal, Utah to Eldon and Dezzie Billings. He was the 2nd of 9 children. He married Betty Campbell in September 1954, later divorced, married Yvonne Billings in June 1978, later divorced and remained good friends.
Glen served honorably for his country in the Korean War. He managed his own business as an insurance agent for many years. An avid fisherman, he also loved the deer hunt and traveling to his cabin in Kamas, Utah. He had a passion for gardening and definitely had a green thumb. Everything he grew was healthy and immaculate. He enjoyed old country western music and would often sing along with his golden voice.
Glen is survived by 8 brothers and sisters: Colleen, Delile, Marva, Arvin, Milton, Maureen, Ona Marie, Everett. Survived by 4 children: Stanley D. Billings (Leslie Peterson),Glena Cooley (Douglas, deceased), Kimberly Billings (Doug Gould), Randal R. Billings (Susan Carhart); 2 step-children: Brent and Scott Laxman; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Eldon and Dezzie Billings,Betty Billings, nephew Chris Billings, son-in-law Douglas Cooley, and step-son Paul Laxman.
Friends and family may call Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd (7800 S.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., same location. Viewing one hour prior to services. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made in Glen’s name to Primary Children's Medical Center.
