Glenda Dickerson of Ypsilanti, Michigan departed on January 12, 2012. Professor of Theater and Director of the Center for World Performance Studies. The noted stage director, folklorist, writer, educator, and African American theater catalyst, Glenda Dickerson, was called home at the age of 66. Her family, friends, former students, and a multitude of colleagues in professional theater and academia at Howard University, Spelman College, and the University of Michigan will sorely miss her. Loving mother of Anitra Y. Dickerson Duncan, daughter of Gerthyl R. Dickerson and Colonel (Ret.) Harvey G. Dickerson, sister of Harvey G. Dickerson Jr.; is also survived by her son-in-law Pierre Duncan, grandchildren Julian P. and Madison K. Duncan; nephew Nathan T. Dickerson and niece Nubia R. Dickerson.
