GLENN E. BANTA Glenn Banta, age 98, passed away on August 4, 2011 in Camas. He was born on January 24, 1913 in Chandler, OK and was raised in Los Animas, CO. Glenn moved to Oregon and Washington working in the Hermiston and Trout Lake areas. He moved on to Bremerton where he worked in the shipyards during WWII. After the war he gained employment at the paper mill in Camas and moved to Washougal. He retired from the mill and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed wood cutting and doing carpentry. He is survived by his daughter, Glenna Bahr of Washougal; son, Wayne Banta also of Washougal; sister, Lillian Morgan of Los Animas, CO; 5 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 1pm at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to Peace Health Hospice @ PO Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
