Glenna Faye Myatt, 80, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born June 15, 1930 in Chillicothe, Texas to Lon G. and Buena Mae (Wilhite) Lincecum. She grew up near the Becton Community and married Donald Myatt in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Glenna’s world was her family and friends. She was her daughter’s best friend and confidant and was loved so much.
Glenna worked for Hemphill-Wells Department Store for many years before retiring from Dillard’s. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She did volunteer work at the Grace Hospital, South Plains Food Bank, Meals On Wheels and South Plains Fair. In 2010, Glenna received a certificate of appreciation from the President acknowledging her 4000 hours of volunteer work in Lubbock.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Dawn Faye Hogan Havalda.
Her survivors include two daughters, Jane Ziolkowski and husband Greg of Amarillo and Nancy Hogan and husband Mike of Austin; five grandchildren, Julie Beyer, Michael Hogan, Jr., Jason Morgan, Kristina Hogan, and Stephen Hogan; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnne Mead of Lubbock and Betty Province of Colorado springs; two nieces; a nephew; and many friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Idalou Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Grace Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund or South Plains Food Bank.
