I'm really sorry to have read of the loss of your loved one. Please accept my sincere condolences. Although I did not know Mrs. Westcott personally, at the same time, I do know what it feels like to loose someone you love in death.

With that in mind, I would like to share something very encouraging - something no doubt you're familiar with. Remember the account in the Bible about the death of Jesus' friend

With that in mind, I would like to share something very encouraging - something no doubt you're familiar with. Remember the account in the Bible about the death of Jesus' friend Lazarus? Jesus told his disciples that Lazarus "has gone to rest." Then Jesus explained, "Lazarus has died." Jesus likened death to sleep meaning that one can awaken. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams. With what outcome? Read the account found at John 11:11-14,38-44.

In the meantime, consider God's promise at Revelation 21:4, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." How comforting!
