Gloria Jean (Carpenter) Friebe, age 68, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully, early on the morning of September 12, 2011. She fought many battles with health recently, but chose to face her last battle with cancer, at her home surrounded by her husband of 45 years, Arnold Friebe; her daughters, Karen (Larry) Nauman of Heiskell, Tennessee and Terry (Greg) Stohl of Sisters, Oregon; her son, Arthur Friebe of Winamac, Indiana; her niece Georgine (Keith) Spencer of Bourbon, Indiana; and her beloved pets, Cocoa and Cody. She is also survived by three granddaughters; Anna Nauman (Dennis) Adams of Heiskell, Leigh-Anne Stohl (Justin) Durham of Sisters, and Heather Stohl of New York City, New York; four great-grandchildren; Meredith Nichole Adams, Olivia Lucile Adams, Madison June Durham, and Marshall Winfield Charles Durham; her brother, David (Gladys) Carpenter of Paris, Tennessee; and her sisters, Norah (Phil) Gamble of Mentone, Alabama and Mary Louise (Pearl) Muncy of McMinneville, Tennessee. Gloria Jean Carpenter was born on September 16, 1942, in Argos, Indiana, to Noah and Minnie Louise Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her father, Noah Carpenter, in 1942, and by her mother, Minnie Louise Carpenter Maxon, in 1980. Everyone who had met or had known “Jean” knew she was a strong, confident person, who faced all challenges head on. She worked hard all of her life at many professions. She was an electrician for many years and then spent several years buying, refurbishing, and selling antiques, with her husband Arnold. Their favorite pastime was attending auctions. Jean and Arnold became well known in the auction circuit around the Plymouth area. ~VISITATION~ THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2011, 1:00-3:00 P.M.
