Gloria Hodge Harris was born January 25, 1938 to her now deceased parents, L.M. Hodge and Jimmie Dee Hodge and her father Herman Toney, Sr. She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at the early age of 11 years old. She was educated in the St. Louis Public School System, attending Patrick Henry Elementary and graduating from Vashon High School class of 1955. Gloria married Charles L. Harris of St. Louis, Missouri. To this union were seven children, Steve, Charles Raymond, Annette, Joann, Marvin and William (John) Harris. Gloria lived a good life. She was an Interior Decorator, she loved to decorate. She was a very well dressed lady and she loved family. She was loved and admired by many and will be missed dearly. On Monday, January 30, 2012, Gloria transcended from her earthly body to her heavenly one. Her husband, Charles and two sons, Marvin and Charles III preceded her in death. Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her five children, Steve (Shaunte), Raymond, Annette, Joann Harris Barnes, and Rev. William (John) all of St. Louis, Missouri; goddaughter, Rhonda Edwards; and a very special daughter, Victoria Williams; eight grandchildren, Aisha, Rosteshia (Roxcie), Jasmine, Darryl Jr., DeAndre, DeAntay (Ronald), Alexis, and Cassidy; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Sonny) Hodge of Armstrong, Missouri; two sisters, Helen Johnston and Estelle (Gale) Covington all of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
