Dr. Gloria Lovett's life ended on December 2, 2010. Jesus welcomed her home as a good and faithful servant, as she entered into the joy of the LORD. Dr. Gloria Lovett was born on December 17, 1947 to the late Clarence Clark and her mother, Fannie B. Clark, in Rahway, New Jersey. The family moved from Carteret, New Jersey to North Edison, New Jersey where she was educated in the Edison school system. At the age of 14 she was stricken with a rare type of arthritis, which caused her body to be deformed. Through the grace of God she was healed by an unknown physician. Her late brother, Calvin, dropped out of school to help his parents take care of her. She was predeceased by her brothers Calvin Johnson-Clark and Lafayette Johnson-Clark. On August 28, 1965 Trustee John B. Lovett, Sr. and Dr. Gloria Lovett were married at Mt. Zion U.F.W. Baptist Church located in North Edison, New Jersey where they resided for several years and later settled in Rahway, New Jersey. Out of this union they had seven children (a set of twins who died at birth). Dr. Lovett was very ill most of her life, but her husband took care of her unconditionally. Dr. Lovett received Christ as her Savior and served the Lord with gladness. She served as the Assistant Pastor to Bishop C. Nathan Edwers of Mt. Zion U.F.W. Baptist Church in North Edison, New Jersey . She was also an Annual Conference Missionary and Vice President of District No. 1 Middle Atlantic Annual Conference. She served as the Sunday School teacher at Mt. Zion , as well as a Theological Scholar of Biblical Studies during mid-week service. She also served as the President of the Missionary Board at Mt. Zion. Dr. Lovett had been a Chaplain and a Certified Nursing Assistant of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Rahway, New Jersey. She received three degrees from the Lighthouse Christian College in Beebe, AK: Bachelor of Religious Education, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Religious Education. Dr. Lovett leaves to mourn her loving husband of 47 years John B. Lovett, Sr. and her five children. John B. Lovett, Jr. of Elizabeth, NJ (friend, Pam), Acquinetta Adams of Rahway, NJ, Lafayette Lovett of Rahway, NJ, Min. Anthony Lovett of Kokomo, IN, and Tiasha Lovett-Smith of Brandon, FL. Two son-in-laws: Elder Darren Adams and Howard Smith. One daughter-in-law, Melinda Lovett. Fourteen grandchildren: Juaneata Lovett, Jasmine Smith, Melisha Gaudier-Lovett, Andrew Adams, Lafayette Lovett, John Lovett III, Malcom Lovett, Nyla Smith, Nefritiri Lovett, Malina Lovett, Jaquil Lovett, Jaquan Lovett, Adonaisha Adams, and Laraenia Lovett. One sister, Alice Regina Lane; Mother, Fannie B. Clark; one aunt, Susie Mae Dunlap, and one godbrother and family, Pastor and Bishop C. Nathan Edwers, and host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Dr. Gloria Lovett.
