HALIFAX- Gloria P. Kinsinger, age 81, of 174 Highland Lane passed away on Saturday, January 21 at the Manor At Susquehanna Village in Millersburg. She was born in Halifax the daughter of the late Orville and Sadie Kerstetter Keiter and the widow of Allen I. Kinsinger. Next to her family and her friends, the two things that Gloria loved the most could be found in her garden and in her kitchen. She dearly loved plants and flowers, and was well known for her award-winning arrangements, as well as the fabulous landscaping of her home. She surrounded her family with many varieties of beautiful flowers, which she planted and nurtured with great joy. Her talents in the kitchen were equally dazzling, as she always enjoyed filling her home with the aromas and flavors of great foods, and providing those delights to the many guests who graced her table over the years. From soup to nuts, she made sure that everyone was well-fed! During the 1960's and into the 1970's, Gloria was a much sought-after designer of women's apparel, creating clothing designs for both Top Mode and Blough-Wagner firms until their departure from the area. She then went to work as a teller for Halifax National Bank, which she enjoyed until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter's (Fetterhoffs) Lutheran Church, Halifax Garden Club and the Red Hat Society. Gloria lost her beloved eldest son, Kerry, when he suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on July 20, 2011 at the age of 61. Surviving are a son Chris of Harrisburg and a granddaughter Jessica Jones of Knoxville, TN. The Memorial Service on Saturday Jan. 28 at 2:00 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 1491 Armstrong Valley Road in Halifax will be in loving memory of both Kerry and Gloria. Donations can be made to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to her church. Arrangements by Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg.
