Grace H. Ostrowski, 97, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Wednesday March 16, 2011, at her home. She was born July 7, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene Hight and Agnes (Krishack) Hight. Grace was a member of St. John Kanty Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening roses and vegetables, also doing geneology work. Grace was a devoted and loyal Cub Fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren On December 5, 1936, in Berwyn, IL, she married Thomas D. Ostrowski who survives, after being married for seventy-four years. She is also survived by her two sons - Thomas (Mary) Ostrowski of Darien, IL, Terrance (Jeong Sook) Ostrowski of Alsip, IL; three daughters - Patricia (John) Duignan of Chicago, IL, Judi Grabowski of Warner Robins, GA, Mary Anne Ostrowski of New Carlisle, IN; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; brother - John (Elizabeth) Krishack; sister - Isabelle Hausman of Kenosha, WI. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, adoptive parents, Magdelena Luetgert and Elmer Luetgert, sister, Ruth Logan, brother-in-laws, Walter Logan and Leo Hausman and son-in-law, Thomas Grabowski. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2011 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm. Services will be held at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Saturday March 19, 2011 at 8:30 AM with Rev. Michael Heimer officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John Kanty Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital 2211 N. Oak Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60607.
