Vernon- Grace W. Hall, 90, a former resident of both Brattleboro and Keene passed away early Friday morning, June 24, 2011 at Vernon Green Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Hall was born in Dummerston on June 16, 1921, the daughter of Willard and Pauline Dodge. She was raised and educated in Dummerston and Brattleboro where she attended public schools. Mrs. Hall had worked at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Bellows Falls and Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where she retired from in 1988. Previously she had been employed at the Brattleboro Retreat and the Gibson-Aiken Center. With her late husband Elwin Hall she volunteered for the American Red Cross, Cheshire County Chapter in Keene. She was a member of the V.F.W. Carl M. Dessaint Post #1034 Auxiliary where served as president and district president. Mrs. Hall also held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary, Brattleboro Post #5. Of her leisure time activities she enjoyed dancing, cooking and time shared with her family. She was previously married to Ernest Parsons, Sr. who predeceased her. She later married Elwin O. Hall who is also deceased. Survivors include three daughters, Viola "Vi" Medor and her companion Don Landry of Andover, CT, Polly Virian Humphreys and husband Gary of Sugar Mountain, N.C. and Barbara Wright and husband David of Brattleboro and one son, Ernie Parsons, Jr. of Barre. Additionally she leaves eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace Street. Burial will follow in Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mrs. Hall's name may be made to, The American Red Cross, Cheshire County Chapter, 83 Court St, Keene, N.H. 03431-3453.
