Message from the Family
We wish to thank everyone for their support during this very difficult time. My mom was the matriarch of our family and it is hard to move forward without her. I know God will help our family through this transition in our lives.

Gregoria Sotelo was born in Calera, Zacatecas, MX. She was the daughter of Mateo and Maria Landa Garcia. She had four siblings: Leobardo, Benjamin, Herlinda, and Mateo. She was the youngest member of her family. In her early years, Gregoria enjoyed a job as a bookkeeper at a local store. She was always very good with numbers. One day, she was walking along the street with her sister-in-law Aurora, when a young man walked by and caught her attention. She didn't realize she had just seen her future husband, Alfredo. They met a few times before Alfredo returned to the United States. They corresponded for nearly ten years before he returned to Mexico where they married. They returned to the United States to start their new life together. Soon thereafter, they started their family. Their daughters Leticia, Rosalba, and Elizabeth were born. They soon moved to Lynwood, California where they shared the remainder of her life.
Goya and Alfredo enjoyed a very fulfilling life together for over 58 years and were wonderful parents to their daughters. Goya was blessed with a large extended family which included her brother, Benjamin, her grandchildren: Renee, Jacqueline, Sarah, Wendy, and James. Later, some great grandchildren were born into the family. She always loved to see her little great grand-children: Nathan, Rachael, Michaela, Lauren, and Gregory. Goya always enjoyed the special relationship she had with son-in-laws Joe Wolpert and Joe Luna as well as Bryan who married granddaughter, Renee — with his two sons, Jack and Joseph. Goya will forever be remembered for her very fulfilling life and sincere devotion to her family.
