GREGORY M. GRIFFIN Suddenly, October 3, 2009. Age 57. Resident of Rochester Hills and Mancelona, Michigan. Formerly of Clawson, Ortonville and Bloomfield Hills. Graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1970 where he was an All-State member of the baseball team. Graduate of Michigan Tech University in 1974, receiving his mechanical engineering degree and Central Michigan University in 1989, receiving his MBA in finance. Current vice-president of sales and marketing for the Porter Group in Novi. One of the founding members and past president of Marketing & Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED). At MSED, he was past chairman of fundraising, benefiting young marketing professionals. A member of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association and Society of Automotive Engineers. Former director of sales at Borg Warner. Lifetime season ticket holder and avid fan of Detroit Lions and Tigers. He truly enjoyed his Mancelona home in northern Michigan. Enjoyed boating, hunting and held a black belt in karate. Beloved husband of Susan K. (nee Cabral) for four years. Treasured father of Jessica R. Griffin and Richard C. Byrnes. Son of the late James and Ruth Griffin. Son-in-law of Jean Guest Hogberg, the late Donald A. Cabral and the late Alvin L. Hogberg. Also survived by his beloved dog, Ruger. Family will receive friends Friday 3-8p.m. Rosary at 7p.m. Visitation Saturday 12p.m. until Funeral Service at 1p.m. at A.J.
