Harley Clinton Newberry Obituary


Harley was born on November 6, 1927 and passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Harley was a resident of Ava, Missouri at the time of his passing.

Harleys active service in the Army began February 20, 1946. When he was honorably discharged on May 5, 1947, he was a part of Company A 532nd Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment at Camp Morro Bay, California serving as an engine man. He received the WWll Victory Medal, with the distinction of Sharpshooter Rifleman M-1.

He is survived by his wife Betty.

To honor and celebrate his life, a visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 3rd, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Services will held Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by interment at Whites Creek Cemetery with Military Honors by Ava American Legion #112 and VFW #5993.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Whites Creek Cemetery, Star Chapel, Douglas County Neighbor helping Neighbor or other charities of your choice.
