Harold Benjamin Cole

COLE, Harold Benjamin Jr. "Skip" -- Age 79, of Flint, died January 19, 2010 at Heritage Manor. Funeral services 11 AM Friday, January 22 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Committal services 11 AM Monday, January 25 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral Home with a 7 PM VFW Memorial Service under the auspices of VFW Post 3087. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family. Mr. Cole was born April 3, 1930 in Flint the son of Harold Benjamin Cole, Sr. and Georgina (McCrindle) Cole. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea. He was married to Barbara Wright and she preceded him in death in 1987. He then married Helen Ritter and she preceded him in death in 2001. He then married Karen (Glazier) Johnson. Mr. Cole worked for Bels Produce Co., and then Michigan Motor Freight from which he retired. He was a member of VFW Chevrolet Post 3087. He was the past commander serving two terms and a member of the Honor Guard. He served on the Michigan State VFW Honor Guard and was a member of the VFW Pool League. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 151 and the Eagles of West Branch. Surviving are wife Karen; three daughters, Susan and husband Alan Brisbane of Flushing, Jane and husband Ken Tagge of Flint, Mary and husband Richard Hamilton of Flint; four grandchildren, Amanda, Ben, Nick and Katie; sister, Vivian and husband Vern Jay of Florida; brother Merrill Cole of California; stepchildren, Kathy DeLong, Merleine Crow, Laura Misenhiemer; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; wife Helen; and grandson Morgan Charles Hamilton.
