Harry Elwyn Lewis Jr., 94, died on November 23 at his home in Eastport.
Born June 4, 1917 in Eastport he was the son of the late Harry Elwyn Lewis and Mary Ann Brown Lewis.
He was the husband of the late Anne E. Wharton (died March 6, 1985) whom he married March 10, 1946 in Galesville.
A 1936 graduate of Annapolis High School, he served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army in WWII. Mr. Lewis was a Supervisor Painter for Trumpy Boat Yard and the United States Naval Academy.
Mr. Lewis lived his entire life in Eastport on Spa Creek. He loved crabbing and fishing. He was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Lillian Speaks (Frank L.), Ida Graham (David S.), Evelyn Miller (George A.), Lola (Robert Luongo) (Anthony Ippolito), Clara Moyer (Vernon), Jessie Gipe (Jerry Dice) (Richard Gipe), Norman Lewis (Edna), and Victor Frank Lewis (Audrey).
Mr. Lewis is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 30 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc., 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, where services will be held at 11 a.m. in the Taylor Chapel. Interment Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
