Harry Junior Coughenour, III, 62 of Gallipolis went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia after a short battle with brain cancer. He was born on July 15, 1947 in Gallipolis to the late Harry Junior Coughenour II and Hazel Johnson Coughenour who survives in Gallipolis. Harry was an employee of the Evans Packing Company, and in 2004 retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 25 years of service. He enjoyed camping, spending time outdoors, cooking, loved his church and his greatest joy was his family. Harry was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #731 in Pt. Pleasant, WV and a member of the Fellowship of Faith Church. Harry married Alice Faye Jones Coughenour on April 6, 1968, and from this union two children were born. A son Stephen (Marybeth) Coughenour of Bidwell and a daughter Lisa (Lee) Osborne of Gallipolis; also surviving are grandsons Trenton Osborne, Cambell Osborne, Jacob Coughenour, Josh Osborne, and Jon Osborne, His mother Hazel survives along with sisters, Patricia (Mark) Sims of Gallipolis, Ella (James) Mills of Jackson, Cathy Potter of Gallipolis, brothers Harold (Rita) Coughenour of Gallipolis, Michael (Mildred) Coughenour of Gallipolis and Dennis (Sherry) Coughenour of Wellston, several nieces and nephews survive He was preceded in death by a grandson Cameron Mikel Tackett. Services will be 11 am Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 6-9 pm at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be a special nephew Michael Scarberry, Paul Knox, Kenny Johnson, Dave Burnett, Josh Osborne, and Jon Osborne. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Gallia County ODOT Co-Workers.
