Mr. Harry W.W. Burkett Jr., 79, formerly of 227 Hamilton Ave., Waynesboro, PA, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his nieces West Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA home. Born July 10, 1932 in Greencastle, he was the son of the late Harry W. W. Burkett, Sr. and Helen M. (Monn) Burkett. He lived in the Greencastle and Waynesboro area all his life. He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Melissa Pryor and her husband Aaron Brechbiel Jr., Greencastle; four sisters: J. Arlene Kline, Waynesboro, Sarah "Joan" Coleman, Blue Ridge Summit, PA, H. Irene Beaston, Chambersburg, Alma Lee Burkett, Greencastle; a caregiver, Teresa Downin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy M. Howe and a brother, Franklin E. Burkett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 28, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro with Rev. Donald Sandman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Coseytown, PA. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services, Monday in the funeral home.
