HAZEL JOHNSTON Hazel Johnston, of Washougal, died March 17, 2011, in Vancouver. She was 82. She was born March 23, 1928, in Bulan, Ky. She had lived in Camas for 67 years, and worked for Pendleton Woolen Mills for 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Saturday Nite Sudsers Bowling League for 40 years. She bowled until she could no longer roll the ball. She was loved by many. She was strong, kind, caring and always willing to help those in need. In her younger days, she loved to dance and listen to live music. She is survived by her children, LaLonna (Jones) Brandenburg of Portland, Ore., Robert L. Jones of Battle Ground; stepdaughters, Laurie Morton and her husband Rod , Kathleen Johnston, Susan Johnston; stepson, Rick Johnston and his wife Laura; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at Straub's Funeral Home, 325 N.E. Third Ave., in Camas. A graveside service will be follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver.
