Hazel M. Sarber Skinner, age 104, of 18568 6th Road, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at home, in the care of her family. Hazel was born to Lewis and Margaret Rhoads Stout, on April 11, 1907, in Marshall County, Indiana. Hazel married Cyril E. Sarber on October 10, 1926. Cyril passed away on December 8, 1955. On March 27, 1957 she married Howard Machlan. He passed away on March 18, 1960. She later married Arthur Skinner on January 14, 1973. He also preceded her in death on May 17, 1985. Hazel is survived by her children, Deane "Duke" (Joyce) Sarber of Plymouth and David Lewis (Nancy) Sarber of Anchorage, Alaska; her step-children, Jim (Carolyn) Skinner of Plymouth, Louise Krick of Rushville, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Carole Sarber of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her sons, Cyril Sarber, Jr. and Dwight Sarber; her step-daughter, Jean Murray; and her sister, Edna Stout. Hazel had been a resident of the area all of her life. She worked for Price's Abattoir, in Plymouth, and the Tyner School, in the cafeteria. She was a graduate of Tyner School in the class of 1925. She attended the Tyner United Methodist Church. She was a kind Christian lady, who will be remembered as being a wonderful caregiver for many people. She was very thankful for all she had and that she was able to share with others. Funeral services will be held, Friday, July 15, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tyner United Methodist Church with Pastors Dave Inskeep and Tami Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Tyner Cemetery. A time of visiting with the family, will be on Thursday, July 14, 2011, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Center of Hospice Care, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563 or the Tyner United Methodist Church.
