Helen Anne Peters, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011. She is survived by son, John David Peters; daughter, Barbara Jean Leonard; son, Jeffrey Young Peters of Albuquerque, and son, Brian William Peters of Markleeville, CA. Helen was preceded in death by her spouse of 59 years, William Peters. She was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV where she lived with her parents and two sisters, Ruth and Nancy. Helen spent some time in New York where she attended secretarial school and met her husband, William Peters. Together they established a residence in Philadelphia, PA, later moving to Missoula, MT, Tempe, AZ and finally coming to Albuquerque in 1968. She was a lifelong bridge player. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Helen always had pets in the house, and she spent her last few years with Squiffy, her adoring feline companion. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, 2:00 PM at French - University, 1111 University Blvd NE. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E.
