Helen Blanton McLain, age 93, of Mena passed away Saturday, September 08, 2012 in Mena.

She was born December 3, 1918 in Hartley, Arkansas to the late Samuel Houston Blanton and the late Susie Brock Blanton. She was married to the late Elvin "Doc" McLain. Helen was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Mena. She worked as factory worker for Renova Manufacturing for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to many who knew her and loved her. She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by:
Sons: Archie Edward Stewart and wife Pat of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan
Dale McLain and wife Diana of Mena, Arkansas
Bill McLain of Mena, Arkansas

Daughters: Shirley Stewart Meador of Paris, Arkansas
Elda Stewart Jones of Mena, Arkansas

Brother: Billy Blanton of Mena, Arkansas

Sisters: Hazel Bender of Greenville, Texas
Elizabeth Hensley of Mena, Arkansas
Margie Smith of Tucson, Arizona

Twelve grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, five great-great grandchildren. Lillian Turner, who she loved like a daughter and Braxton Arceneaux, who she loved like a grandson.

She was preceded in death by parents, Houston and Susie Blanton, husband Elvin "Doc" McLain, one daughter, Helen Sue Stewart Piearcy and son-in-law, Herman Jones, brother, J.R. Blanton and a sister Macy Moler.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Mena with Brother Donnie Jewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Family and friends visitation will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Beasley Wood Chapel from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bill Joe McLain, Jodie Roberson, Charlie Hensley, Richard Martin, Arnold Lunsford and Tommy Devitt.
