Mrs. Helen Buchanan

Helen Vance Buchanan went to her heavenly home on December 7, 2009 at the home of her daughter, Mary Ann Buchanan of Vero Beach.
Born December 22, 1919, to the late Richard and Samantha Vance of Iaeger, West Virginia, she made her home in Gilbert, West Virginia until moving to Florida in 1964.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach, and a long time church worker especially in the children's Sunday School Dept. She had been an employee of the U.S. Postal Service and the JFK Hospital in Lake Worth.
She is survived by her son Donald (Gayle) Buchanan of Berea, Ky. , two daughters Anita (Tom) Lovelace of Clifton, Va. and Mary Ann Buchanan of Vero Beach. Grandchildren, Rosemary (Kevin) Briggs of Lexington, Ky., Scott (Courtney) Buchanan of Berea,Ky., Beth (Michael) Baron of Virginia. Great grandchildren, Conner and Hunter Buchanan, Brian Briggs, and Victoria Baron. A sister, Thelma Allen of Adrian, Michigan , brother Eugene Vance of Princeton, WV.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 67 years Harold Buchanan, special grandson Brad Browning of Vero Beach, four sisters and three brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Fl 32960 in memory of Mrs. Buchanan.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on December 11, 2009 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on December 12, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Jesse Samons officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Garden, Ft. Pierce, FL.
