Helen Burgess Gilstrap, 84, of Pickens, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ada Moser Burgess.

Surviving are her daughter, Jo Ann E. Gilstrap; 3 grandchildren, Joy Mathis; Kim (Charlie) Sons; and Torrey (Julie Richards) Gilstrap; 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children, Gary Allen Gilstrap; Vickie H. Gilstrap; and Cathy Gilstrap Turner; and her siblings, Sydney; Jim; Larry; Hovey; Junior; John and Frances.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2pm in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 – 8pm at the funeral home.
