HELEN C. SARI, age 85 of Manassas, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at her home surrounded by those who loved her.
Mrs. Sari was born February 12, 1922 in Arlington, Virginia, daughter of the late Uraldean B. "Beaner" and Myrtle D. "Billie" Wren Conklin. She was a volunteer greeter at Stonewall Middle School, Manassas where she was known as the "Candy Lady". Mrs. Sari was Secretary to the Army Corps of Engineers for over 40 years.
Also preceded in death by her brother, Louis E. "Porky" Conklin.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Patricia S. Tate and husband Steve of Fairfax, Virginia; one son, James L. Sari of Falls Church, Virginia; four grandchildren, James Frazier, Kelly Moulter, Steven Sari and Brian Sari; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Frazier, Sara Frazier, Alexander Moulter and Andrew Moulter; loving nieces and guardian angels, Nikki Berner, Robin Hollyfield, Pam Drake, Linda Kosek, David Croson and Judy Almond and many special family and friends whom she loved very much.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2007 at Pierce Funeral Home Chapel, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 5, 2007 with Father Randolph Bragg officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia Gardens, Arlington, Virginia.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Capital Hospice, 10530 Linden Lake Plaza, Suite 200, Manassas, Virginia 20109-6434 in memory of Helen C. Sari.
