Helen E. Long, age 66, of 311 Alexander Street, Plymouth, Indiana, passed away at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth. Helen was born on June 11, 1945, in Belvidere, Illinois, to Harold H. and Esther M. (Johnson) Long. Helen graduated from Tyner High School. She worked at Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penny in Plymouth. Helen, along with her sister Ruth, operated the "Next to New" consignment store, in downtown Plymouth, for 17 years. Helen was an active walker, for years, in the community C.R.O.P. walk. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, in Plymouth, where she played the piano for Children's Sunday School. Helen is survived by her sister, Ruth Long of Plymouth; her brother, Ed (Sharon) Long of Fairfield, Ohio; her aunts, Dorothy Johnson of Plymouth and Adele Long of Rockford, Illinois; and many cousins and friends. The Long family would like to thank Pastor Ann Marie; Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth; Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home; and Hospice; for their kindness and care that was given to Helen.
