She made me feel welcomed and my Son, Stephen adored her as if she were his own Grandmother. (He often mowed her yard) I personally lost a good friend on the 19th of February, and through reading his memorial, I came across Helen's. I am so sorry to have learned of this loss too late to have shown my respects to her. I loved her dearly and have missed having her as a neighbor. After I moved, it was only a few short months when Helen and our across the street neighbor Bernice also moved from the neighborhood. Again, I am so sorry to have learned of this too late to show my respects to the family. Stephen is now a disabled US Marine living in Colorado, and sends his love and condolences from afar. The true lasting benefit of being a doctor is the people you are privileged to treat. Inevitably certain people stand out in a doctor's recollections. The name Helen George is one who comes to mind, not because she was the mother of one of my best friends, but because of who she was and what she represented to all who knew and loved her.She was the epitome of warmth, grace and caring.Her smile was ever present and sincere. Tete, I have fond memories of you when I was a little girl. I remember every Christmas/New Year you would make us a meat peeta with a quarter hidden in one of the pieces. Whoever found the piece with the quarter in it was to have goodluck for the new year. The anticipation was always so much fun. As I grew up, I didn't see you as often, but as a young adult sometimes I would come over for lunch

As I grew up, I didn't see you as often, but as a young adult sometimes I would come over for lunch and you would always have something on hand for us to eat. We would sit at the kitchen table and talk. After I had Matthew, I would bring him over to visit you, and we would go out into the back yard and look at your garden. When we moved to Florida, I know that made you sad. The past few years when I was able to come up for a visit, you would always say, "Oh, Susie, I wish you still lived here." We would hug, give each other a kiss, and say goodbye. I wish I could have given you one more kiss. I know I will see you again one day, in Heaven, and I'll bet you'll have the best garden ever.
