Helen Ione Bivens born January 2, 1940 to Clarence Alfred Foster and Lea Elda Allen Foster in Hoxie, Kansas passed away at home Friday April 11, 2008 with her loving family at her side. Helen graduated from Lenora, Kansas in 1957. She met Kenneth Bivens while working at a café in Hill City, Kansas. They were married November 26, 1958. They moved to Fort Collins in 1968 and later moved to LaPorte in 1997. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, yard work, fishing, picnics with family, and spending as much time as she could with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved telling people she was from a family of 15 children, 8 brothers and 6 sisters and they were all foster kids with Foster parents. (Foster being her maiden name.) She is survived by her son Aaron Bivens and wife Tracie of Fort Collins, a daughter Colette Reeve of LaPorte, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five brothers Robert Foster of Plainville, KS, Gorden Foster of Wilsonville, OR, Vernon Foster of Topeka, KS, Clarence Foster of Paola, KS and Howard Foster of Ft. Morgan, CO and five sisters Thelma Beagley of Kansas City, MO, Eleanor Esslinger of Belleville, KS, Erma Allison of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marilyn Miles of Warren, OR and Gloria Schmitten of Gladstone, MO. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, three brothers, one sister and her husband of 48 years. She was loved tremendously and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be from 9am-10am, Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Allnutt Drake Road Chapel with the funeral service beginning at 10am. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
