Helen Jean Mason

Helen Jean Mason, 75 of Sophia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Born January 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ellaree Sager Edgerton.
Helen loved going to church, cooking for her family and taking care of her little dog Pepper.
She was a member of the Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Mason; sister's Nancy Clore, twin's Adeline Edwards and Caroline Fournier; brother Richard Edgerton; great-granddaughter Lillian Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Jeanne Cannetti and husband Patrick of Cool Ridge, WV, Wesley Mason and wife Mildred of Daniels, WV, Brad Mason and wife Lisa of Packs Branch, WV, Laura Ackerman and husband Michael of Elkton, MD, Frank Mason and wife Patty of Lester, WV, Ervin Mason of Sophia, WV; step-children, Rita Byrge of Crab Orchard, Celia Sellards and husband Bill of Beckley, WV, Larry Mason and wife Wanda of New Castle, DE; and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her twin sister Freda Edgerton and sister Geraldine Thomas and husband John both of MI; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life for Helen will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Lester Church of God. Per her wishes she has been cremated.
