After several months of health struggles, Helen L. Wentz passed away gently at the Celtic HealthCare Hospice . She was surrounded by the "loves of her life", her son Robert F. Wentz; grandsons Robert Wentz, II and Joseph D, Wentz and beloved daughter-in-law, Peggy (nee Bromfield) Wentz of Nanticoke PA. A daughter of immigrants, Helen was born September 14, 1932, the seventh of nine children. She attended the Pottsville High School and was employed for many years at Phillips & Jones where she worked as a sewing machine operator. Born and raised in Seltzer PA, Helen lived most of her adult life in Tamaqua, PA after her marriage in 1960 to Franklin Wentz, Jr. It is there where she was a member of St Jerome's RC Church. In 2007, she moved to Nanticoke, PA to live near her son and family. In Naticoke she was a member of St. Foustina Roman Catholic Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin; her three infant daughters, Cathlene, Lisa and Linda Jean. whom she longed for her entire life; her parents, John Joseph and Mary Antoinette (nee Martinko) Lazovi. In addition to her son and grandsons, Helen is survived by her beloved sister Anne Skrincosky and her husband, Joe and many adoring nieces and nephews as well as her loving Wentz family, Joan Fritz and her husband, Gene and Richard Wentz and his wife, Georgene. Helen lived her life in a good and simple manor, making her family the center of her world. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 4, 2013 in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 266 West Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua will follow the mass. Call 8:30 -9:30 AM, Friday at the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua. Memorials in her name may be made to Celtic Hospice Community Care, Wilkes Barre, PA.
