Helen Louise Perron, 79, of Elkhart died March 21, 2010 at 7:53 pm at her daughter's home in Goshen. She was born September 19, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to James Gough and Mary (Alvey) Gough. She married John Dawber in July 1950 in Detroit. He was killed in Korea in September 1950. She married Kenneth Louis Perron in 1953 in Detroit. He died in Elkhart in January 1976. Surviving are her children James (Kathy) Perron, of Indianapolis; Mary (James) Tuthill, Anne (Randy) Jones, Michael (Barbara) Perron, Laura (David) Snell; eight grandchildren, Michael, Louis, Christa, Brian, Michelle, Daniel, Marie and Olivia; two sisters Kathleen (Joe) Clancy, Mildred (David) Larson, and one brother Gerald (Kathy) Gough. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, John, brothers Sherman, Malcolm, Elwood and Russell. Helen graduated from St, Theresa High School in Detroit in 1948 and was employed by Michigan Bell from 1949 to 1955. She moved to Elkhart with her family in 1972 and worked for Kmart until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. After her retirement she volunteered as an Elkhart General Hospital Auxiliary member and worked in the hospital gift shop. Friends may call from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
