Mrs. Helen Louise Schaffner

A Memorial Service for Helen Louise Schaffner, nee Osborne, age 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Clearwater Center, 1270 Turner Street, Clearwater, Florida. Officiating will be the Rev. William Magee of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Clearwater.

Mrs. Schaffner died Thursday, January 19th at her home in Clearwater, FL. A resident of Clearwater for the past twenty years, Helen had previously lived in Seattle, WA, Durango, CO, Topeka, KS, and Downer's Grove, IL. She was born in Oak Park, IL on December 5, 1921.

She attended Northern Illinois University and worked for Boeing in Seattle and for the American Bar Association in Chicago. She was a Gray Lady Nurse in World War II, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a volunteer for the Servicemen's Association. She was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, enjoyed being an organist and choir member, and worked with the Lutheran Church Women's Association.

Beloved wife of Donald, loving mother of David (Meg) and Anne, cherished grandmother of Ashley and Stephen Martin and great-grandmother of Owen. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Kirk and Bessie Mason Osborne and her dear sister Marilyn (Anatole) Mankivsky.
